The name BOYERY NYC refers to New York's famous Bowery Street in the heart of Manhattan. The opening of trendy nightclubs from the 1960s onwards, the mixing of different ethnic groups and the meeting of artists and musicians made The Bowery the legendary centre of jazz, punk and new wave. BOWERY NYC aims to reflect the style that emerged in this neighbourhood - starting with a collection of vintage T-shirts with over-colouring effects. The graphics are inspired by objects, shop signs and icons that have helped make the neighbourhood the birthplace of a new, distinctive style.
